GORDO Jewell Junkins Johnson, age 95, of Gordo, died Dec. 24, 2007, at Aliceville Manor Nursing Home. Services will be 1 p.m. today, Dec. 27, 2007, at Skelton Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Hayse Moss officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Methodist Church Cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform directing. Visitation will be immediately following the services.She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy T. Johnson, her stepson, Clifford Johnson, her sister, Louella Ammons, and by her parents.Survivors include her daughters, Patsy J. Moss and husband Hayse of Tuscaloosa, Ala. and Kay J. Wood and husband Joe of Aliceville, Ala.; her son, Johnny M. Johnson and wife Connie of Pearl River, Miss.; her sister, Maureen J. Kirkley of Northport, Ala.; 14 grandchildren, Mike Moss (Janet), Allison Hassell, Mark Moss (Billie), Karen McAdory, Alan Wood (Adelaide), Melissa Nance (Ricky), Donald Wood (Jennifer), Nancy Pannell (Roger), Rhonda Mosier (Keith), Laura Cockfield (Matt), John Randy Johnson, Lynell Dancy (Rob), Geoffrey Johnson, and David Johnson; and 18 great grandchildren.Mrs. Johnson was born October 13, 1912, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to the late Marion and Cordelia Brazeal Junkins. She was a member of the Gordo First Baptist Church for 69 years. Mrs. Johnson was a retired insurance sales associate with Travelers and Aflac.Pallbearers will be Mike Moss, Alan Wood, Mark Moss, Matt Kosloff, Donald Wood, Randy Johnson, Justin Moss, Brian Nance, and Victor Wood.Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Dale Robbins, staff of Aliceville Manor Nursing Home, Shirley Scott, and members of Double Portion Church and Aliceville First Baptist Church.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Double Portion Church, 2411 17th St., Tuscaloosa, AL 35401; Aliceville First Baptist Church, 323 Broad St., Aliceville, AL 35442; or one's favorite charity.
