God welcomed another angel home when Jessie Stephens Ansley passed away Friday, April 24, 2009, at a local hospital. She was born April 20, 1913, in Samson, Ala., to Zeke and Emma Vickers. She moved to Panama City at an early age and attended Millville Elementary School and Bay High School. Jessie attended Callaway Assembly of God Church and was a member of the senior adult class. She enjoyed crafts, gardening and working in her yard. She loved God and praised Him daily for giving her another day. She also loved her children, grandchildren and Linda and delighted in preparing their special foods. Mrs. Ansley was preceded in death by her husbands, Leslie Ansley and Roy Stephens and a son, Charles Alvin Stephens. Survivors include son Roy Glen (Nadja) Stephens; daughters Shirley (Robert) Shoemaker and Louise (Gary) Turner, all of Callaway; grandchildren, Keith (Karen) Shoemaker, Paula (Jeff) Marshall, Greg, Beverlie, and Kimberlie Turner, Carole Grantham and Beverly Moore; and two brothers, R.C. Vickers of Panama City and James Vickers of Callaway. She has 13 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and six great-great-great-grandchildren, and a special niece, Lucille Moore. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Gary Brackett and the Rev. Dewey Myers officiating. Interment to follow at Callaway Cemetery. Asked to serve as pallbearers: Keith Shoemaker, Gregg Turner, Taylor and Troy Marshall, Tyler Scott, Jeff Marshall and Rick Bozeman. Honorary pallbearers: James Vickers, R.C. Vickers and Robert Gill, Earl Marshall and Gerry Bodine. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, April 27, 2009, at Heritage Funeral Home.
