Jessie-Mae Smith, spouse of Jesse-James Smith, daughter of Jesse and Lizzy-Kelly, mother of Bud Alton, Tommy J, Jesse Joseph, Samuel Paul, Joann, Jeanette, Mary Ruth, Bonnie Marie, Ga, James Rayburn and Judy Elizabeth, died at 79 years old.
Jessie Mae Pinion Smith, 79, of 115 Central Road, died Thursday at Anderson Area Medical Center. A native of Central, daughter of the late Jesse B. and Lizzy Kelly Pinion. She was the widow of Jesse James Smith. Surviving are sons, Bud Alton Smith of Central, Tommy J. Smith of Liberty, Jesse Joseph Smith of Greenville and Samuel Paul Smith of Seneca; daughters, Joann Merck of Six Mile, Jeanette Leslie of Pickens, Mary Ruth Roberts of Pendleton and Bonnie Marie Turner of Lula, Ga.; 26 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was predeceased by son, James Rayburn Smith; daughter, Judy Elizabeth Smith; and seven brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central-Clemson Commons, with burial at Mount Zion Cemetery. Visitation: 1 to 2:45 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
