BARNWELL, S.C. - Jessie Lee Carter, 63, died Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at his residence. Mr. Carter was born on July 20, 1943 in Lodge, S.C. He was the son of the late Blanchard and Edna Richardson Carter. He was a member of the Hagood Ave. Baptist Church, a retiree of Westinghouse at the Savannah River Site, owner of Carter's Christmas Tree Farm, and had served in the S.C. National Guard. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hagood Ave. Baptist Church with Dr. Ken Catoe and Rev. Farrell Ray officiating. Burial will follow in the Saint Johns Baptist Church Cemetery at Ehrhardt, S.C. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening at Mole Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to one of the following: The Carolina Children's Home, P.O. Box 4465, Columbia, S.C. 29240-4465, The American Cancer Society, 200 Jefferson St., Barnwell, S.C. 29812, or Saint Johns Baptist Church, Rt. 1 Box 165, Ehrhardt, S.C. 29081. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Barbara June Bishop Carter of Barnwell, S.C.; son, Swain Carter of Barnwell, S.C.; grandchildren, Andrea M. Carter and Meagan E. Carter; brothers, Willis Carter of Laurel Bay, Maryland and Joe Carter of Lodge, S.C. He was predeceased by a son, Cary Carter and a brother, Blanchard Carter. Mole Funeral Home. 803-259- 3166.
