GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Jerry Lee Jackson, 77, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2009, in Gainesville, Florida. He was a native of Milan, Indiana. In January of 1936 he came to Anniston, where he remained until he graduated from Anniston High School in 1950. He attended the University of Alabama where he was a member of the Million Dollar Marching Band, graduating in 1954. He resided in New York and worked for Random House Publishing until his retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents, Professor Lester Paul Jackson and Hazel Lane Jackson. He is survived by his brother, Robert Lane Jackson (Anne), of Anniston; a nephew, Robert Mark Jackson and a niece, Lane Jackson DeWine. He has resided in Gainesville, Florida for the last 20 years and was a member of the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. Services are pending.
