Jerry Godwin, age 65, of DeFuniak Springs died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007, at the Fort Walton Beach Medical Center. Jerry was born May 19, 1942, to the late James and Clyde Godwin. He was a lifelong resident of DeFuniak Springs and formerly owned Clary-Godwin Funeral Home. He was preceded in death by a brother, Newt Godwin. Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Sheila; two sons, William Andrew Godwin and wife Jenifer of Maryville, Tenn., and Benjamin Jerry Godwin of DeFuniak Springs; a brother, Doug Godwin and wife Terry of DeFuniak Springs; a grandson, Casey Godwin of Maryville, Tenn.; a nephew, Charles Godwin of DeFuniak Springs and numerous other relatives. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007, at Gum Creek Cemetery with Brother Joel Davis officiating. Flowers are omitted; donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
