-> Baxley - Jerry Allen Carter, 54, died Thursday, February 3, 2005. A native of Glynn Co., but had lived in Jeff Davis Co., before moving to Appling Co., in 1971. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he had served as chairman of the board of deacons, Sunday School teacher, and in the church choir. He was preceded in death by his mother, Alla Mae Carter. Survivors include his wife Gail Tootle Carter; his son, Jeremy Alan Carter, SC; his father, Sam Carter, Sr; two sisters, Sharone Carpenter and Marilyn Woodall, and his brother, Sam Carter, Jr. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 6, 2005 at First Baptist Church.
