PEQUANNOCK — Services were held for Jeannette Louise Teremetzky Mitchell, 90, of the Pompton Plains section of this community, who died on Saturday, August 24, 2013. Born in Passaic, Mrs. Mitchell lived in Red Bank and then in Rutherford for more than 50 years before moving to Pompton Plains. She worked at Fort Monmouth during World War II and later was a credit manager for Vivitar, Lyndhurst. Also, she was a member of the Rutherford Art Association, the Rutherford Woman's Club, and the Rutherford PTA. She was a volunteer with Rutherford Youth Employment and Little League Baseball. And, she was a Cub Scout den mother. Services were Thursday at St. Mary's Church, Rutherford, followed by interment at Arlington National Cemetery, Va. Arrangements were by the Calhoun Funeral Home, Rutherford. Donations may be sent to the Salvation Army or the Teterboro Animal Shelter. Mrs. Mitchell is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Mitchell Kehayan; her son, Joseph; and two grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Sidney; her son, Daniel; and her parents, Daniel and Caroline Teremetzky.
