->LEWISTON -- Jeannette C. Chenard, 83, of 93 Summit Avenue, Lewiston, died Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009, at Hospice House in Auburn after a long battle with cancer.Born in Upper Frenchville on Oct. 14, 1926, she was the daughter of Arthur and Delina Cyr Cote. Educated in Frenchville schools, she moved to Lewiston at a young age and was employed for several years as a spinner in the Hill Mill.On Oct. 24, 1953, she married Bertrand G. Chenard.A member of Holy Cross Church, Prince of Peace Parish, she also belonged to Holy Cross Senior Citizens, the Ladies of St. Anne and the Mid-Maine Motorcycle Association.Survivors include her loving husband of 56 years, Bertrand C. Chenard of Lewiston; sisters-in-law Irene Andrews, Rita Rodrigue, Pauline Blanchard and Rita Chenard; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.She was predeceased by a brother, Camile Cote, and three sisters, Lucille Maxim, Irene Levesque and Yvonne Cote.Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Monday at Holy Cross Church in Lewiston. Interment will be at St. Peter's Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday at the Albert & Burpee Funeral Home, 253 Pine St., Lewiston.Donations may be made in her memory to Hospice House, 236 Stetson Road, Auburn, ME 04210.
