Jeanne Miller Born: October 8, 1917, Regina, SK. Passed Away: January 3, 2011, Saskatoon, SK Jeanne was born in Regina and moved to Duck Lake with her parents who died when Jeanne was a small child and she and her brother were raised in a foster home in Saskatoon. At the age of 19 she moved to Handel where she met and married Ben Miller. They raised five children on a farm near Handel. Later the moved into town and then to Kerrobert. Upon Ben's death in 1981 Jeanne moved to Saskatoon where she resided until her death. During her years in Handel she was an involved member of the CWL, a member of the Sask. Provincial Park Association and she was a correspondent for the Wilkie Press and the Biggar Independent. During her years in Saskatoon she was a member of the Saskatoon Housing Authority. This was also the time she developed her love of painting. She displayed her work in many venues including the Mendel Art Gallery. Jeanne enjoyed her many friends in the Handel and Kerrobert areas, and made many dear friends in Saskatoon. She looked forward to her visits from her family and was ever so grateful for the kindness and care of her daughter-in-law Shirley. Jeanne was predeceased by her parents, her brother, her husband Ben, her son Bart and her daughter Connie. She is survived by her sons Teddy (Janet) and Martin (Doreen); and her daughter Barbie (Melvin); her daughter-inlaw Shirley and son-in-law Danny; 17 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Vigil of Prayer will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Sprit Roman Catholic Church (Kingsmere Blvd. & Taylor St. E.). Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated by Fr. Ken Beck on Friday, January 7, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
