MITCHELL, Jeanne I. Price, 70, of Sebring, died Tuesday, April 26, 2005 at Highlands Regional Medical Center in Sebring. She was born in Huntington, W.Va. She was the daughter of the late Luther L. and Jeanne Henry Price. Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Joseph A. Mitchell, Dec. 21, 1997. She was a graduate of Sebring High School, class of 1952, and the University of Miami. She also studied at Stetson University, the University of Florida and the American University, Washington, D.C. She loved to travel and as a young woman, she worked and studied in England for almost two years. Prior to her marriage to Dr. Joseph A. Mitchell in 1971 at St. Agnes Episcopal Church, Sebring, she taught English in the public schools in several areas of Florida. They moved from Pompano Beach in 1976 to Sebring, where both Dr. and Mrs. Mitchell had grown up. Both she and Dr. Mitchell were very active in the band at Sebring High School. After Dr. Mitchell's death, she continued to live in Sebring. She will be especially remembered for her sense of humor, her laughter, and her unwavering loyalty and concern for her family. She is survived by her son, James Henry (Candelaria) Mitchell; grandchildren, Justin James and Jordan James Mitchell all of Sebring; sisters, Mary Lu Price Harris, Greer, S.C. and Nancy Ann Price Thomas, Sebring; brother, James J.H. Price, Lynchburg, Va.; stepchildren, Richard Mitchell, Diane Proffitt, John Mitchell and Karen Lambright; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11a.m. Saturday, April 30, 2005 at First Presbyterian Church, Sebring with the Rev. Darrell Peer officiating.
