Jeanne E. Anderson, a resident of Canton, formerly of Vineland, N.J., passed away Friday, Feb. 11, 2011, at the Hellenic Nursing Home in Canton. She was 88 years old. Born March 13, 1922, in North Adams, she was the loving daughter of the late Arthur and Bertha (Barker) Anderson. She attended North Adams Public Schools and later received her bachelor's degree in nursing from Catholic University in Washington, D.C., and her master's degree in nursing from Boston University. She was employed as a nursing administrator and director of nursing for several hospitals, including Lawrence Memorial Hospital in New London, Conn., North Adams Hospital in North Adams and Newcomb Hospital in Vineland, N.J. She was also an instructor and assistant professor at both Ohio State and Penn State Schools of Nursing. She was a member and attended the Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton. She was also a volunteer at Norwood Hospital and was also a Shine counselor and volunteer for Hessco Elder Services. She was also a very dedicated Docent at the Fuller Art Museum in Brockton. She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Breen of South Burlington, Vt.; and her brother-in-law, Donald Perrault of Thousand Oaks, Calif. She was also a sister to the late Claire Fitzpatrick, Ruth Beaudin and Phyllis Perreault. Other survivors include her nieces and nephews, Bruce Fitzpatrick, Jean Fitzpatrick, Dr. Tom Breen, Terry Breen, Tim Breen, Susan Bombardier, Mike Beaudin, Patricia Katz, Annette Perreault, Denise Rodeheaver, Madeleine Beezer, Jacqueline Gonzales, Suzanne Perreault, John Perreault and James Perreault. A Mass of Christian burial was held Feb 17, in the Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton St., Stoughton. Burial is private. Arangements by Sheehan Funeral Home, 115 Monk St., Stoughton.
