Jeanne Croteau, 81Was a Daughter of the Holy Spirit for 30 yearsSentinel & EnterpriseFITCHBURG -- Jeanne Croteau, 81, of 279 Daniels St., the Joseph House, died Friday evening at HealthAlliance Hospital/Leominster after an illness. For the past two years, she had been a resident of the Fairlawn Nursing Home at 370 West St. in Leominster.She leaves four sisters, Antoninette Leger of Fitchburg, Bertha Allain of Leominster, Rachel Demarais of Fitchburg, and Sister Clement Croteau of the Daughters of the Holy Spirit, a longtime resident of St. Cecilia’s Convent in Leominster who is now stationed at the Mother House in Putnam, Conn. She also leaves several nieces and nephews and was predeceased by seven brothers and five sisters.Ms. Croteau had been a Daughter of the Holy Spirit for 30 years. She taught first and second grade schoolchildren in the United States and Canada. She later was housekeeper and aide to the Pastor Fr. Prunier at Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Spencer for 17 years before retiring several years ago.She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church.CROTEAU -- A funeral will be Tuesday with a Mass at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 58 Walnut St. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Fitchburg. Calling hours are on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lavery-Chartrand Funeral Home, 99 Summer St., Fitchburg.
