Chartier , JeanneJeanne D. Chartier R.N., age 91, formerly of Trumbull, entered into eternal life, Monday August 27, 2012, at Apple Rehab, Guilford. Jeanne was born in LaPatrie, Canada, daughter of the late Edouard and Marie Beauregard Chartier. She was also predeceased by brothers, Lionel, Maurice, Hermyle and Bertrand. She was a longtime resident of Carmel Ridge and St. Joseph's Manor, Trumbull, before moving to the St. Lucian Residence, New Britain. Jeanne received her R.N. from St. Vincent's Hospital School of Nursing, Bridgeport, B.S.N. at Boston College and M.A. at NYU. She retired as a registered nurse consultant for the New York State Department of Education and had extensive experience in teaching in hospitals including Danbury, Bronx and Flower Fifth Ave., NYC. She was an assistant professor at Dutchess Community College. Her memberships included the American Nursing Association, National League of Nursing and the Dutchess County, NY Retired Teachers' Association. A soft spoken lady who was first to help her neighbor, she was a devout Roman Catholic who volunteered endless hours to the church. Survivors include her loving nieces and nephew, Noella Haynes and husband Roger, Faith Rogers, Rosemary Chartier, Edward Chartier, Mary Jean and Lucille, sisters-in-law, Geraldine, Jeanne and Germaine Chartier, several great nieces and nephews; also dears friends, Teri Denver, Rev. Philip Sheridan and his sister Mary Sheridan. Funeral services will be held Friday, at 10:00 am. in St. Stephen Church, Trumbull, with a Mass of Christian Burial. Private interment will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Stratford. There will be no prior calling hours.
