Obituary of Jeanette-Rose Smith


TOMS RIVER, N.J. - Jeanette Rose (Robichaud) Smith, 92, a longtime Tewksbury resident, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 13, at the Community Medical Center in Toms River. She was the wife of Charles W. Smith, Sr., who died Nov. 29, 1966.Born in New Brunswick, Maine, on May 24, 1911, she was a daughter of the late Placid and Sarah (Gendreau) Robichaud. Mrs. Smith was raised and educated in Lowell, and later moved to Tewksbury, where she lived for 53 years.In earlier years she was a communicant of St. Robert Bellarmine Parish in West Andover.Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Smith worked at Wang Laboratories in Tewksbury. She was previously an aide at the former St. Joseph's Hospital in Lowell.She enjoyed bowling, sewing, crafts and traveling.She is survived by a daughter, Barbara E. Bennett of Tewksbury; six grandchildren, Deborah Wells, Joyce Kling, Linda O'Connell, Heide Overstreet, and Mark and Mitchell Smith; many great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.Mrs. Smith was also the mother of the late Charles W. Smith, Jr., mother-in-law of the late Donald L. Bennett, and sister of the late Daniel, Charles, Mable, Florence, Alice, Bertha and Blanche.
