She also volunteered at the Preble Street Resource Center along with her husband after their retirement. Besides being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Jeanette would often help her husband with the family business. She enjoyed playing cards with her longtime circle of friends, traveling and cooking- her specialty being ham-hock pea soup and hero sandwiches, served every Saturday at noon to family and friends. She was predeceased by her daughter, Susan; and foster son, Peter Metcalf. She is survived by her daughter, Diane A. LeClerc and husband David of Gorham, sons, G. Henry Gagnon Jr. and his wife June of Westbrook, and Philip T. Gagnon Sr. and his longtime companion Margaret St. Pierre and her daughter Patty of Falmouth. She is also survived by two sisters, Irene Parsons of Denmark, and Theresa McLaughlin of Westbrook. She is survived by seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren: Lisa M. Caristinos and her son Nikolaos; Paula G. Gowen and her husband Sean and their children Michael and Sara; Luke Davis and his wife Holly and their children Jeremy, Trevor, Bryce and Contessa, all of Naugatuck, Conn.; Amy Earley and her husband Craig of Saco; Philip T. Gagnon Jr. and his wife Tatia of Westbrook; and Nicole S. Gagnon and Eric Gagnon of Westbrook. Jeanette faced death as she faced life, believing in simplicity in all things. Therefore, in accordance with her wishes, there will be no visitation. Funeral services will be held at the Parish of St. Anthony of Padua (formerly St. Hyacinth's Church) in Westbrook on Saturday, Dec. 6, at 10 a.m. Immediately following the service all relatives and friends are invited to a celebration of her life at Verillo's Convention Center in Portland. Arrangements are made by Blais and Hay Funeral Home, Westbrook. Many thanks to the compassionate and caring nurses and doctors at Maine Medical Center, 7th Floor Cardiac Care Unit. Expressions of sympathy, if desired, may be made to: The Barbara Bush Children's Hospital Care of Maine Medical Center 22 Bramhall St. Portland, Maine 04102 Jeanette M. Gagnon
