Jeanette Lassiter Anderson, 78, of Panama City, Fla., passed away Sunday, Dec. 26, 2010, at Mathison Retirement Center, where she had resided for two months.She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. She was high spirited and big hearted, with a lively sense of humor. Jeanette loved to laugh. She never met a crossword puzzle she could not master. She also appreciated good spicy food and enjoyed the arts and entertainment. In 1966, she graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science from the School of Education. In 1974, she achieved the Degree of Master of Science in Counseling and Guidance from Troy State University. Her life was her ministry as she was both teacher and guidance counselor to countless students and parents. During her education career she served at Cove Elementary School, Merriam Cherry Street Elementary School, A.D. Harris Sixth Grade Center and Lucille Moore Elementary. Known by many as Mrs. Mozley, she encouraged her students to live to their highest potential.An avid Florida State Seminoles fan, she frequently volunteered for numerous non-profit organizations over the years. She was a long time, active member of Saint Andrew's Episcopal Church.She is survived by her son, Lloyd David Hart III (Anne Tabor); grandchildren, Lloyd David Hart IV (Cecily), Annie Tyler Hart (Chris Chipman), and Mamrie Lillian Hart; great-grandchildren, Luca and Naima Hart, and Bryce and Chase Chipman; sister, Audrey Wentland; and brothers, Charles Lassiter (Sherby), and Marvin Lassiter (Ezell). An animal lover, she also is survived by her "four-legged grandbabies."Her parents, Raymond and Bertha Lassiter, preceded her in death.We extend infinite gratitude to the staff of Emerald Coast Hospice and Mathison Retirement Center for their friendship and tender, loving care."Momma J was the best mother/mother-in-law anyone could ever have or hope for. She was loving, generous, and kind beyond measure. We loved her deeply and will miss her dearly."A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011, at Saint Andrew's Episcopal Church with The Rev. Dr. Margaret S.
