->BANGOR and ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. - Jeanette D. Smith, 78, wife of the late Earl C. Smith Sr., died Aug. 14, 2013, at a Bangor hospital. She was born April 3, 1935, in Mars Hill, the daughter of Walter L. and Annie H. (Billings) Campbell.Jeanette and Earl retired in 1983 and wintered in Zephyrhills, Fla. She loved the time she spent with her family and enjoyed various activities including crafts, crocheting, canning, knitting and summers at camp.Surviving are three children, Carol Gray and her husband, Ronald, of Orrington, Earl Smith Jr. and his wife, Evelyn, of Bucksport and Debbie Stevens and her husband, Mark, of Naples; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three nephews, Charles Dunehew and his wife, Judy, of Bellview, Mo., Dave Dunehew and his wife, Lynne, of Auburn and Allen Dunehew and his wife, Cindy, of Illinois. She was predeceased by her parents, and by her husband of 58 years in 2011. The Smith family would like to thank the doctors and staff of EMMC Grant 6 West and the staff of CancerCare of Maine for the excellent care provided to Jeanette and her family. They would also like to thank her friends at the Villa for their help, support and friendship.A graveside service for both Jeanette and Earl will be held 2 p.m. Friday, at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor, where those attending are asked to meet at the cemetery office at 1:45 p.m. Family and friends are invited to The Villa, 321 Stillwater Ave., Bangor, for a time of remembrances and refreshments immediately afterward.
