Jean Miller, born in 1926, spouse of Daniel-D. Miller, son of William and Leah, father of Allan, Kristina, Mo, Randy, Tenn, Richard, Kathy and Wis, died on September 8, 2007.
Jean Margaret Allan Miller, Kansas City, Mo., died Sept. 8, 2007. She was born Nov. 29, 1926, in Plainville to William and Leah Allan. In 1948, she received her undergraduate degree from Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vt. Shortly after receiving her graduate degree from Boston University in 1950, she moved to Japan for the U.S. government as a school teacher. She later relocated to Germany where she also taught school at a U.S. Army base. There she met her husband, Daniel D. Miller, whom she married in 1957 and shared 48 years. She is survived by her sons, Allan Miller and his wife, Kristina, of Parkville, Mo., Randy Miller, of Memphis, Tenn., Richard Miller and his wife, Kathy, of Madison, Wis.; and four grandchildren, Kathryn, Alex, Dan and Sarah. She was predeceased by her husband, Daniel D. Miller. A memorial was held Sept. 12 at Newcomer's White Chapel, Gladstone, Mo. Burial followed in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to the Arthritis Foundation, in care of D.W. Newcomer's Sons White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 N. Antioch Road, Gladstone, MO 64119.
