Jean Margaret Dixon SACKVILLE, NB - The death of Jean Dixon, age 97, of Sackville, occurred on Friday, December 30, 2005 after a brief illness. Jean was a daughter of the late Walter I. and Jane (Gillis) Dixon and was the last surviving member of her family. After completing her education in the Sackville schools, she attended the Mount Allison Ladies College, studying Applied Arts, earning her certificate. She went on to teach silver smithing for a year after her graduation and she enjoyed oil painting for the rest of her life. Jean was a Charter Member of the Sackville Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and a member of the United Church Women. She enjoyed playing bridge and was an avid gardener. Jean was predeceased by her sisters, Louise Dixon, Emma Tingley, Erma Hart and brothers, Raymond and Amos. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. There will be an "At home" at Jean's residence, 57 Charles Street, on Friday, January 6, 2006 from 2 pm until 4 pm, for friends and relatives. At Jean's request, there will be a private graveside service held at a later date. Donations to the Sackville Memorial Hospital Auxiliary would be appreciated.
