CARTER _ (nee Adams) Jean Margaret We give God thanks for the life of a loving wife, mum, nana, sister, aunt, friend and teacher. Jean was born on April 30, 1933 in London, England. She passed away peacefully in her own bed on April 26, 2007 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She lives on in the lives of her much loved family, daughter Jennifer and husband, Ian Cunnings, son Keith, much-adored grandsons Luke and Evan, and their mother, Dee Michener. She is also remembered by her brother Lawrence Adams, her brother-in-law Hilliard Carter (Aileen), her sister-in-law Catherine Blackwell (Spark), her sister-in-law Bess Gant and many nieces and nephews, including her special grandnieces Abby and Tessa Adams. Jean's husband, Fred, died in January 2005, her mother Minnie Mary Adams (nee Bryant) in 1974 and her father, Bernard Lawrence Adams in 1983. We are grateful for the support and care of Dr. Linda Curtis, the palliative care teams, those on N52 at Surrey Memorial Hospital, the nursing staff of Care Counts and many friends and family who made it possible for Mum to be at home and enjoy her garden. Please join us as we celebrate her life at Northwood United Church in Surrey (8855 156th Street) on Sunday, May 6th at 2:30pm. A reception will follow. Donations in Jean's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, Surrey Food Bank or the Fred Carter Children and Youth Bursary Fund at Northwood United Church would be appreciated. She was a loving spirit who so generously shared her faith, time and gifts.
