Jean Margaret Carter Funeral arrangements by Chapel Lawn Funeral Home It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jean, beloved wife of the late Steven Carter. Our precious mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on December 20th, 2005 at the age of 83 years. Left to lovingly cherish her beautiful memory are her children Donna and Merv, Judy and Ken and grandchildren Kris and Kailee. Mother will always be remembered as a dignified and independent lady. She considered herself very fortunate to be blessed with good health throughout her 83 years. This allowed her to be self-sufficient and she was grateful to be able to remain in her own home where she lived for 49 years until her passing. Mother had a real zest for life and enjoyed every day to the fullest. She was a kind generous person who was genuinely interested in others and considerate to all. She was a wonderful caring Mother and her love for her family always came first in her life. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her. Following our Father's passing, Mother's close companion for 15 years was her dog , Amy.' Ever faithful and endearingly protective, this little dog and her owner made instant friends wherever they went. Mother took a lively interest in the world around her. She considered herself fortunate to have been employed at the Winnipeg Free Press for over 30 years where she met so many interesting people. She enjoyed stimulating discussions about politics and other world events. Her extensive love of travel took her to many far away places and she enjoyed making many new friends on her numerous cruises and tours. In her later years, she also enjoyed her frequent short trips across the border with her daughter and son-in-law. As were our Mother's wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers if friends so desire, donations may be made in Mother's memory to the charity of one's choice. As we say goodbye for now, we thank you Mother, for the example that is true and good in life. You have shown us how to live our lives to the fullest, enjoy all that life has to offer without judgment, trust in God's way and love each other. "Until we meet again Mother, We love you forever."
