->Stonington - Jean M.(Bodington) Scott of Stonington, passed away Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010. She was predeceased by Charles W. Scott, her husband of 49 years and her sister, Roberta Sommers.Jean was born on Jan. 1, 1931, in Boston, but was raised mainly on Block Island.Jean is survived by her two daughters, Jennifer Archer of Pawcatuck and her husband, Ken, and their two daughters, Katherine and Kristen, and Deborah Plaisted of North Stonington and her husband, David, and their son, Ashley.For many years, Jean and her husband, Charlie, ran The Beachcomber, an inn on Block Island where everyone was always welcomed to sit around the kitchen table for food and laughter. Jean was a member of the Ladies of the Cloth and was a skilled craftswoman.A celebration of Jean's life will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, at the Road Church on Pequot Trail in Stonington.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.Byles Memorial Home, 99 Huntington St., New London, is assisting with the arrangements.
