Jean M. Miller Cold Brook Jean M. Miller, 67, of the Hurricane Road, died on July 14, 2009, at Faxton-St. Lukes Healthcare, New Hartford, following a brief illness. Jean was born in Syracuse on January 2, 1942, a daughter of the late Gordon and Margaret Dealing. She graduated from Poland Central School and was united in marriage with Elmer P. Miller on April 23, 1961, in Newport. The couple owned and operated the former Millers Market in Cold Brook until Elmers passing on September 29, 1984. Jean continued to operate the store for a brief time and later worked as a care attendant at the Upstate Cerebral Palsy Residence in Poland for five years. She shared a loving companionship with Vinnie Nicotera for the past 22 years, whom she affectionately called her Hunny Bunny. She was of the Methodist faith and a former member of Kuyahoora Chapter #145 O.E.S., Newport. Jean loved camping, spending time with her grandchildren, sewing and crocheting. Survivors besides her companion, Vinnie Nicotera, of Cold Brook, include two sons and daughters-in-law, Elmer, Jr., and Paula Miller of Rome and Gordon and Georgie Miller of Cold Brook; three grandchildren, Michelle, Gordon and Megan Miller; one great-granddaughter, Autumn Coffin; one brother and his wife, Delbert and Rachel Dealing of Utica; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Ephriam Dealing, and a nephew, Kenny Boomer Miller. Funeral services will be held at the Autenrith Funeral Home, Newport, on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with Marianne Victor, Lay Speaker of the Cold Brook United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Poland. Calling hours at the funeral home are Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials to the Poland Volunteer Fire Department or KVAC.
