Jean Lackey Johnson, 73, Palmetto, died Aug. 17, 2003. She was born April 3, 1930, in Manatee County and was a lifelong resident. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Palmetto Assembly of God. Survivors include daughters DeeDee Hawkins of Palmetto and Kim Shook of Highlands, N.C.; a son, Brett of Parrish; sisters Alice Wallis of Bradenton and Edna Hilton of Parrish; brothers Jimmy Lackey of Pensacola, Frank Lackey of Fort Myers, and Buster Lackey of Ellenton; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, with a service to follow, at Palmetto Assembly of God. Burial will be at Mansion Memorial Park, Ellenton, after the service. Ellenton Funeral Home is in charge. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Highlands, P.O. Drawer 190, Highlands, N.C. 28741.
