Jean JohnsonDecaturJean Johnson of Decatur passed away September 17, 2014. Mrs. Johnson was a native of Spring Hill community in Walker County. She was the daughter of the late Tom and Laura Wakefield also of Walker County.She graduated from Carbon Hill High School in 1948. She also attended Birmingham Southern Business College and graduated there with a business degree in 1950. She soon married Herbert L. Johnson and had two children.She retired from the State of Alabama Food Stamp office and was an area Realtor for many years. She was a member of Austinville Baptist Church in Decatur. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert L. Johnson; her son, Ricky Johnson; her parents, Tom and Laura Wakefield; seven sisters and five brothers.She is survived by her daughter, Judy Johnson Blaxton (Paul) and grandson, Isaiah Cagle; one brother, David Wakefield (Mary Ann) and a host of nephews and nieces and good friends.A celebration of her life will be held at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home on Saturday, September 20, 2014, at 2 p.m. with visitation from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Brother Bill Gable will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.Pallbearers will be Dannie Osborne, Tim Osborne, Rod Millwood, Arie Engle, Lyn Blankenship and Drew Millwood.Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Montgomery, Sterling Osborne and Jim Dinsmore.
