Dorothy Jean (Sims) Johnson died March 12, 2008 at St. Francis Hospital from respiratory complications of COPD.Ms. Johnson was the daughter of the late Belton Sims, Jr. and Minnie Lee (King) Sims. She was the widow of Henry W. "Johnny" Johnson, her husband of 57 years and was predeceased by brothers, James Adger Sims, Broadus Cleveland Sims, Henry Paul Sims and Andrew Franklin Sims and by sisters, Mrs. Roy (Carrie Belle) Blanton, Mrs. Claude (Virginia Vivian) Watson and Mrs. C.E. (Olivia Louise) McMillan.Jean is survived by her sister, Mrs. Jule G. (Minnie Lee) Hering of Holland, Mich.; by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and by three special nephews and their wives, Earl and Chris Blanton of Bel Air, Md., Alan and Gail Hering of Holland, Mich. and Robert and Gloria Sloan of Berlin, N.H.. She is fondly remembered by her dear care-giver, Sandra Renwick.Jean was a long time member of Botany Woods Golf Club, where she played regularly until her health failed.Funeral services will be held Monday, March 17, 2008, at 2 p.m. at the Remembrance Mausoleum Chapel of Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, SC.Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in the mausoleum.
