JOHNSON Jean (Pinky) Marie Dunham Johnson, 82, went home to the Lord on Tuesday, April 15, 2008. Pinky, born on July 21, 1925 in Harrisville, PA, was the daughter of Leon Burnett and Ethel Blanche Weston Dunham. She graduated from Orange High School in Orange, MA, where she was awarded a letter in Basketball for the 1942-43 season. She moved to Savannah, GA, where she worked as an accountant for the Union Bag and Paper Corp. She met W. Evans Johnson in 1951, and they married in Savannah at the St. John's Episcopal Church on September 6, 1952. As a young mother of four, Pinky was very involved in her community. She was president of the P.T.A. and a Girl Scout Troop Leader. In 1968, she moved to Jacksonville. Three years later she and Evans founded St. Johns Chemical Corporation. She was Secretary/Treasury of the company until it was sold in 1984. Pinky was a very active member of San Jose Country Club, where she participated in the San Jose Ladies Nine Hole Golf Association and served as president of the association from 1969-70 and 1982-83. She also ran the scoreboard for golf tournaments and organized many club functions. An avid golf fan, she worked as Co-Chairperson of Concessions at the TPC Golf Tournament for many years. Preceded in death by her husband, Evans, she is survived by her daughters, Dorothy Ann Lampe and her husband Eric, Nancy Feist and her husband Jeff, Barbara Lawrence and her husband David; her son, Richard and his wife Ethel; sisters, Dorothy Harris and Anne Reuben; grandchildren, Victoria Davenport and her husband Todd, Jacob Feist, Laura Feist, Christin Lawrence, Matthew Brim, Nichole Lawrence and Nathan Brim; and great grandchild, Jabari Williams. She will be remembered fondly for her quick wit, her deep love of her family, her integrity and her wisdom. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at HARDAGE-GIDDENS FUNERAL HOME, 4115 Hendricks Avenue. After the service, family and friends will gather to celebrate her life at Pinky and Evans' home.
