JONCAS, Jean IreneOn Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at the age of 94, Jean Irene Joncas was peacefully released from the arms of her family into the arms of her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Jean was born in Punnichy on September 3, 1920 where she graduated from grade 12, later moving to Regina to complete Business College. During WWII, she worked at the War Plant before enlisting in the RCAF, Women''s Division stationed in Toronto. After the war, Jean married Philip Joncas in 1945 and started a family which was her lifelong dream. They moved to their home on Charles Crescent where Jean happily spent the remainder of her life. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker and was a mother to many children on the Crescent. For 35 years she taught Sunday School at Rosemont Church of God and was an active member in her congregation. Until her later years, she loved and cared for her pet cats, enjoyed baking squares, doing arts and crafts and various forms of painting. Jean worked at Old Age Pension and volunteered at Wascana Veterans Ward. She always looked forward to visits with family, friends and special niece Jackie Lewis. Jean was predeceased by husband Philip; parents Robert and Rose Lewis; brothers Ed and John; and sisters Alice, Anne, Helen and Ada. She is survived by her children Robert Joncas, Irene Behrmann and her dedicated caregiver and advocate Chuck Joncas; grandson Brock Joncas, nephew Don Karpan; and nieces Eileen Dawe, Janet Hickey and Jackie Lewis. A VISITATION will be held at Regina Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East, Regina, SK on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. A GRAVESIDE SERVICE will be held at Regina Memorial Gardens Cemetery on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at 2:30 p.m."Well done thou good and faithful servant…enter thou into the joy of the Lord."
