ObituaryJEAN J. ROGERSITHACA - Jean J. Rogers, 81, of Sheraton Drive, Ithaca, NY, passed away Monday, June 19, 2006 at Cayuga Medical Center.Born August 23, 1924 in Sumter, SC, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Dorothy Jackson.Jean was Supervisor of Housekeeping at Wells College and later took over Dining Services at Wells College. She retired from Cornell University in 1990 as the Superintendent of Buildings' Care. Her life was in her work, gardening and entertaining.She is survived by her very special friend, Dorothy Carroll of Ithaca, NY; her daughter and son-in-law, Katherine and John Listar of Oak Ridge, TN; son, George Rogers of Hamlin, NY; grandchildren, John, Matthew and Tamara Listar, Melissa (Shawn) Nowatchik, John and David Rogers; great-grandchildren, Dillon, Danyl and Dreu Nowatchik; sister, Norma Harper of Manning, SC; and several nieces and nephews.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9 a.m. on Friday, June 23, 2006, at Immaculate Conception Church, Rev. Leo Reinhart officiant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the Perkins Funeral Home, 55 W. Main St., Dryden, NY, on Thursday, from 6-8 p.m.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to National Kidney Foundation of CNY, 731 James St., Suite 200, Syracuse, NY 13203. www.perkinsfuneralhome.com
