Jean Elizabeth Fraser AMHERST, NS - Jean Elizabeth Fraser, age 88, of Amherst passed away Monday, July 16, 2007 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Center, Upper Nappan, N.S. Born in Wallace Bay, she was a daughter of the late Harvey and Dorothy (Smith) Mitchell. She attended Wallace Bay School until graduation from High School. Jean moved to Amherst and lived with her cousin Myrtle and worked at the Two Barkers Store and later worked at other jobs in the area. She was later employed in the office and was manager of the Victorian Motel for over 20 years until retirement. Jean enjoyed playing bridge with her friends as well as duplicate bridge for many years. She is survived by two sisters, Myrna Mundle of Pugwash and Pearl (Fred) Russell of Wallace Bay; and one brother, Gerald (Ramona) Mitchell of Moncton, N.B.; and also several nieces and nephews. Jean was predeceased by her husband, Lloyd of 48 years; and two brothers, Merlin Mitchell and Sherman Mitchell. Her remains are resting at Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst with visiting on Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2007 at 2 p.m from Campbell's Chapel with Pastor Brent Foster officiating.
