Jean E. Nelson, age 78, of St. Augustine, Fla., died July 26, 2009, at Earl B. Hadlow Center for Caring, Jacksonville, Fla. She was born in Danbury, Conn. Mrs. Nelson has been a volunteer at Lightner Museum since moving to St. Augustine in 1992. She had also volunteered at Flagler Hospital and St. Francis House. No services are planned, those wishing may make a contribution in her memory to St. Francis House or Lightner Museum.She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Donald E. Nelson; daughter, Susan Depace, Kingston, N.Y.; son, Daniel E. Nelson, St. Augustine, Fla.; sisters, Patricial Presnell, New Port Richey, Fla., and Nancy Wilson, Clearwater, Fla.; and three grandchildren.Craig Funeral Home Crematory Memorial Park is in charge of the arrangements.
