Jean D. Rogers, 80, of St. Augustine, and formerly of Chinchilla, died March 29, 2005, at Flagler Hospital. While a resident of Chinchilla, she was a member of Epiphany Episcopal Church, Glenburn. She joined the U.S. Air Force and continued her medical technology career for 20 years through the Korean and Vietnam War eras, attaining the rank of lieutenant colonel, retiring in 1971. Her career continued for the Florida Department of Health as a medical laboratory certification consultant until full retirement in 1981. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. April 23, 2005, at Trinity Episcopal Church.Surviving are a brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Leland C. Rogers, Hixson, Tenn.; three nieces, Lecia A. Al-bright, Diane J. Rogers and Ellen L. Smith; and two nephews, Leland C. Rogers III and Owen Gregory Rogers. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leland C. Rogers Sr. and Phoebe Maddock Rogers, formerly of Chinchilla, Clarks Summit, Fort Lauderdale and St. Augustine. Ms. Rogers' remains will be interred in the Trinity Episcopal Parish Grounds, St. Augustine, at a later date. Arrangements by Craig Funeral Home, St. Augustine.
