SMITH Jean Bochnia Smith, a Merritt Island resident for 39 years passed away on August 28, 2007. She was 66. Jean was born in Madison, Florida and raised in Jacksonville, graduating from Paxon High School in 1959 before going on to FSU. After receiving a Masters degree in Education in 1968 she settled in Merritt Island and spent 34 years teaching in the Brevard county Public school system. Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Henry (Hank) D. Smith, Jr. She is survived by her mother Lurline Bochnia, her sister Anna Teague and her two sons: Mitchell Smith and Jeff Smith, their wives Gretchen and DeAnn and her precious grandchildren: Sophie, Emma, Luke, Porter and Ashlyn. Visitation will be held this Friday evening, August 31, at Wylie-Baxley Funeral Home from 6-8pm. The Funeral services will be this Saturday, September 1: 10a.m. at Merritt Island Presbyterian Church and 3:30 p.m. at Riverside Memorial Park in Jacksonville.
