HALL _ Jean Beatrice It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of our mother and grandmother Jean Beatrice Hall. She was born on September 13, 1921 and died on July 22, 2007, just short of her 86th birthday. She was predeceased by: her parents Francis George Phoenix and Beatrice Catherine (Dean) Phoenix, her husband William Douglas Haig Hall, her brothers Robert Phoenix and Howard Phoenix and her son-in-law Melvyn Lum. She is survived by her children: Carroll Lum, Howard Hall and Brad (Annie) Hall, adopted daughter Lynn (Dennis) Humphries; her grandchildren: Grayson Lum, Angela (Mike) Froese, Christopher (Sarah) Lum and Jodi Hall; her great-grandchildren: Madelaine and Patrick Froese; her sister Lillian (Ben) Mitchell; family friend Jeanne Osborne and many nieces and nephews. We shall all miss her vibrant spirit, her caring and giving nature and her creative talents. Jean was born in Toronto, Ontario and attended elementary and high school in Scarborough, ONT. She and her husband moved to B.C. in 1958 and they fell in love with their new province. She raised her children and then became a foster mother to many young people who needed her help. She enjoyed cooking and canning, hunting, fishing, making beautiful quilts, and she excelled in everything that she did. There will be no funeral by request. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada.
