Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Cave Springs Cemetery for Jean Abney Peterson, 68, Gadsden, who died March 18, 2008. Morgan Funeral Chapel and Crematory will be directing.Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Mildred Abney; and grandfather, Charlie Simmons.She is survived by son, Steven (Melissa) Peterson, Gadsden; sisters, Martha Faye Armstrong, Attalla and Kiara Spillane, Virginia; brothers, C.T. (Helen) Abney, Attalla and Charles Jerry Abney, Covington, Ga.; honorary granddaughters, Nicki Parks and Ashley Robershaw, Attalla; great-grandchildren, Rachael and Shawn Spillane, Virginia; and special friends, Juiree Tucker, Attalla, Nina Jenkins and Ina Lumpkin, Gadsden and Shelia Wood, Attalla.Pallbearers will be Kim Lumpkin, Ricky Wood, Michael Thompson, Dayrel Horsley, Greg Lee and Randy Jenkins.
