Obituary of Jean A. Rogers


Englewood, FL Jean A. (Haslett) Rogers of Englewood, FL, formerly of Weymouth, MA, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 4, 2008 at her home, surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Jean, the daughter of the late Aileen (Cook) and Vincent Haslett was born January 1, 1939 and was raised in Quincy, MA. She was a 1956 graduate of Braintree High School. She began her working career at Grossmans Inc. in Braintree and retired as an Executive Secretary in 1996. Jean was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, knitting and going to the casino. For the past 10 years Jean and Martin have enjoyed "the good life" in Florida. She will be missed by her husband of 50 years, Martin P. Rogers of Englwood, FL, son Robert V. of Maplewood, NJ, daughters Deborah A. Daniels of Westwood, MA, Karen L. Carroll of Abington, MA and Allison R. Guyot of Bradford, MA. She is also survived by her beautiful grandchildren Daniel, Jeffrey and Robert Carroll of Abington, Claire and Eva Daniels of Westwood and Natalie, Lillian and Kathryn Guyot of Bradford and her sister Shirley Alvarez of Oakland, ME. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 29 at 11 a.m. at Christ Church, 12 Quincy Ave., Quincy, MA. Contributions in Jean's name may be made to Tidewell Hospice and Palliative Care, 12034 N. Access Rd., Port Charlotte, FL 33981.
