Jay-Kay Johnson, born in 1925, spouse of Patricia Johnson, son of Arthur and Nellie, father of Lynda, Cindy, Karen and Joyce, died on February 26, 2002 at 77 years old.
Jay Kay Johnson, 77, of 2 Norwood St., Monaghan, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002. Born in Batesville, Ark., he was the husband of Patricia Johnson, and a son of the late Arthur and Nellie Johnson. A U.S. Air Force veteran, he retired from Steel Heddle and was an Episcopalian. In addition to his wife he is survived by daughters, Lynda Christopher of Simpsonville, Cindy Abercrombie of Pelzer, Karen White of Hickory Tavern and Joyce Johnson of Greenville; brothers, Maxwelton Johnson of Cleveland, Ohio, and Uis V. Johnson of Memphis, Tenn.; and six grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dr. Kirt Mitchell officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Family members are at the home of Joyce Johnson, 9 Longland Drive.
