Janie Lou Knight Davis, 84, of the Hickory Tavern Community, wife of the late James Walter Davis, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, July 13, 2008, at University Hospital in Mobile, Alabama.She was born in Hickory Tavern on November 20, 1923 and was the daughter of the late David Todd and Mary McDaniel Knight. She was a life-long and active member of Friendship Presbyterian Church. She had retired from Laurens School District 55 as a cafeteria manager in 1987.She is survived by one son, James Todd Davis and wife, Sheila, of Inman; two sister-in-laws, Nancy Knight of Hickory Tavern and Melba Davis of Donalds; brother-in-laws, Roy Davis and wife, Betty, of Ware Shoals and Bill Ballenger of Hickory Tavern; family members, Bobby and David Ballenger, Joe and Billy Davis, Becky Hodges, Charlene Abercrombie, and Randy Powell; family friends, Barbara Beauclerk and Linda Edwards; and special nieces, Elaine and Wanda Knight, Cindy, Lynne, and Brittney Powell of Hickory Tavern.Funeral services will be Thursday 11:30 a.m. July 17, 2008 at Friendship Presbyterian Church conducted by Rev. Robert D.
