<!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->CARTER, Mrs. Janie, 100, a resident of Montgomery, Alabama, passed away on Friday, October 11, 2013, at home. Graveside services will be held Saturday, October 19, 2013, at 10 a.m. in Alabama Heritage Cemetery. Mrs. Carter will lie in state at the Alabama Heritage Funeral Home beginning Friday, October 18, 2013 at 12 noon with family visitation starting at 5:00 p.m. and lasting until 7:00 p.m. Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Oliver Carter, and two children, Mr. Carson O. Carter and Mrs. Shirley A. Woods. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Jeanette Tucker, Anderson, SC; one daughter, Mrs. Jaine M. Parker, Montgomery, AL; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren, all of Baltimore, MD; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives. Mrs. Carter was born in Anderson, SC, moved to Baltimore in 1935 and this is where she spent the majority of her life. In 2006, she relocated to be with her daughter. "Mrs. Janie", as everyone referred to her, lived a long and fruitful life. She was a very strong, humble and pious lady who loved and served the Lord.Online condolences may be made at www.alabamaheritagefh.com.
