ObituaryJANICE YVONNE SMITHVARNA - Janice Yvonne Smith, (nee Tripp, Saraceni), passed peacefully at her home, 529 Goss Street at Hillside Acres, Varna, on Monday, April 26, 2004, at the age of 68. Daughter of the late James and Louie Lovelace Tripp.She leaves behind her husband, Alfred Smith; her children, Michael (Cherise) Saraceni, Patricia (Denny) Kartchner, and Mario (Michelle) Saraceni; her brother, Rev. Harry (Esther) Tripp; sisters, Lorraine (John) Selleck, Carol Rolison, and Barbara Clemons; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her infant son, Scotty George Saraceni Jr.Jan was loved by many friends, she was a Golden Age member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Aerie 1253, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Ithaca, for 36 years, also was a past president and treasurer. Jan retired from Cornell University as a secretary.A memorial tribute will be held Saturday, May 1, 2004, at 1 p.m. at the Eagles Club, 711 West Clinton Street. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Jan's memory may be made to Hospicare of Ithaca, 172 East King Rd., Ithaca, New York. Private burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Bangs Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
