Janice Kay Smith, age 60, of Bruner, passed away on Monday, August 9, 2010. She was born December 15, 1949 in Madison, Wisconsin, the daughter of Gerald and Bernice Olson. On January 29, 1967 she and Dale Lee Smith were united in marriage.Janice was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed taking care of her family, especially her grandkids, traveling and camping. Throughout her working career she was employed by Eagle Signal and Cheeseman's in Wisconsin, and was a secretary for the University of Missouri in Columbia.Survivors include her husband, Dale; three children and their spouses, Debra and Greg Floyd, Erie, Colorado, Dale Smith, Jr. and Sarina, Sparta, and Jason and Tara Smith, Sparta; eleven grandchildren, Nicholas and Madison Floyd; Hayden, Jocelyn, Elle, and Emry Smith, Taylor, Jordyn, Isaac, Elijah, and Jadyn Smith; and a sister, Joanne Tangney and husband Richard, Beloit, Wisconsin.Her parents and a brother, John Olson, preceded her in death.Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, August 12 in Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 704 South Belview, Springfield. Burial will follow in Bruner Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. on Thursday until service time in the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark.
