Wolfeboro, NH Janice (Burpee) Jones, 82 , of 6 Clow Rd., Wolfeboro, went to her final reward June 2, 2008, surrounded by her family at Huggins Hospital in Wolfeboro. Jan was born in Cambridge, MA, December 10, 1925, daughter of the late Maurice and June (Arnold) Burpee. She grew up in Braintree, MA and graduated from Braintree High School in 1944. On May 12, 1945, she married Robert T. Jones, her husband of 63 years. They lived in Braintree, MA, until 1962 when they moved to Pennsylvania and retired to Wolfeboro in 1984. Jan was a longtime member of the Kingswood Golf Club and former member of the Newcomers Club, she also was co-founder of the Caregivers of Wolfeboro with Jane Quimby. Survivors include her husband Robert of Wolfeboro, 3 daughters, Linda DuShane of Tyngsboro, MA, Marcia Dowell of Salida, CO, Susan Mack of Yardley, PA, 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 2 sisters Joan Ashton of Wolfeboro and Marcia Cook of Weston, MA. A Celebration of her life will be held Saturday, June 7th at 1:00 PM in the sanctuary of the First Congregational Church to which she belonged for 23 years. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Kurn Hattin Homes at 64 Mathey Rd., Westminster, VT, the Wright Museum or the charity of your choice.
