Janice I. (OConnell) Lachance, 69, of Plymouth, died Feb. 19, 2015 at home after a brief illness with loving family members by her side. She was the wife of Ronald L. Lachance and the daughter of the late Edward W. and Irene L. (Kaminsky) OConnell of Brockton. She was born in Brockton and lived in Wareham briefly before moving to Plymouth 40 years ago. She graduated from Brockton High School in 1963. Mrs. Lachance worked as a Special Needs Teachers Aide for the Bourne School System for many years. Previously she worked for Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Brockton. She was also an Avon Representative for over 10 years. She volunteered for the Cape Cod Pops Concerts Series, helped placing memorial flags out at Massachusetts National Cemetery. She enjoyed whale watching, walks on the Canal, spending time with her husband, sons, and especially with her grandchildren. She was a communicant of St. Margarets Church in Buzzards Bay. She loved her family especially her grandchildren and reading. Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Ronald L. Lachance; 3 sons, Brendon D. Lachance and his wife Michelle, Jeffrey J. Lachance and his wife Marissa, and Christopher D. Lachance and his wife Kim all of Plymouth; 10 grandchildren, Kai, Makenzie, Aubrey, Gavin, Justin, Brady, Cody, Colby, Cameron and Chase. She was the sister of the late Robert and Dennis OConnell of Brockton. Her funeral will be held at 9 a.m. on Thursday, February 26, 2015 from the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Margarets Church, 141 Main St., Buzzards Bay. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Visiting hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
