VERNON Janet Sue Smith of Vernon died May 4, 2010, at Fayette Long Term Care. Services will be 2 p.m. today at Blooming Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Ronnie Elmore officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Nelson Funeral Home of Fayette directing. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church.She was preceded in death by her parents, William Grant and Wilda Lumberry Leach, her brothers, Billy and Donnie Leach, and her sister, Debra Strickland.Survivors include her husband, Joe Hill Smith of Blooming Grove, Ala.; her sons, Andy Joe Smith (Tracie) of Winfield and Brad Maxwell of Peoria, Ill.; her daughter, Joy Faye "Sissy" Smith of Kennedy; her sisters, Beverly Keel of Elmwood, Ill., Jane Stripling of Fayette, and Linda Yancy of Vernon; and three grandchildren.Pallbearers will be Steve Reed, Mark McDonald, Alfred Taylor, Gene Chambless, Tim Chambless, and Don Randolph.
