->New London - Janet Edwards, 74, of Glenwood Ave., died Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2011, at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital, New London.She was born in New London on Sept. 9, 1936, the daughter of William and Alice M. Edwards.Janet worked for 31 years for Hermitage Hospital Products in Niantic, and then an additional 10 years at Emergilite in Westbrook until they closed.She lived all her life with her beloved sister, Helen Edwards, with whom they traveled, laughed, and worked together until Janet's death. She also leaves behind her two Maltese dogs, Billy and Muffy, who were the love of her life.Janet was a very hard worker who always thought of others first, before taking care of herself. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011, at St. Joseph Church, Squire St., New London. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New London. There are no calling hours.Thomas L. Neilan & Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
