CRAWFORD, Janet (Jean) Dalziel (nee Thomson) On July 12, 2004 Mrs. Janet (Jean) Crawford of Edmonton, Alberta passed away at the age of 80 years. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Crawford and is survived by her stepsons Doug Crawford of Edmonton and Ron (Janice) Crawford of Calgary, and nephew James (Jean) Triscott of Edmonton; grandchildren Taryn, Hailey and Colton and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Born in Edmonton in 1924, Jean was raised, educated and worked as a seamstress in Edmonton for over 43 years, principally for Edmonton Furriers located on Jasper Avenue. Jean was an eager sports enthusiast, participating in pin bowling, lawn bowling, curling, as well as being an avid Edmonton Oiler and Eskimo fan, and Soccer Mom. She was also a life member of the Edmonton Scottish Society. Deaf since childhood, she developed a close relationship with animals which became her ears and close companions. Over her lifetime she had several dogs, cats and birds residing with her. A memorial service in memory of Jean will be held Monday, July 19, 2004 at 3:30 p.m. at Foster & McGarvey Ltd. 10008 - 103 Street, Edmonton, AB. In lieu of flowers contributions are requested to be made to Edmonton SPCA, 12251 - 67 Street, Edmonton AB T5B 9Z9, in memory of Jean Crawford.
