Jane B. Of Painted Post, NY Age 79, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 6, 2001, at the Waters of Three Rivers Health Care Facility. Mrs. Patterson was born in Coatsville, PA, the daughter of Walter and Anna Barnes. She came to Corning as a bride in 1944 and became a member of the First United Methodist Church of Corning. She was a past member of the American Association of University Women and Hospital Chapter A. Jane was a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University where she was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi. She was a longtime piano teacher retiring in 1989 after touching the lives of countless students. Jane is survived by her husband of 57 years, Vernon; daughters and sons-in-law, Anne and Frank Fitzpatrick of Jupiter, FL and Erin and Don Jacob of Elmira; grandchildren, Meghan and Lauren Jacob and Frank and Matthew Fitzpatrick; and two brothers of Coatsville. Friends may call at the Phillips Funeral Home, Inc., 17 W. Pulteney Street, Corning from 3:00 to 6:00 PM on Friday, November 9, 2001. A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 144 Cedar Street, Corning at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 10, 2001, with the Reverends Charles Hess and SungHo Lee officiating. A private interment service will be held at the convenience of the family. The family requests that donations in Jane's memory be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 435 East Henrietta Road, Rochester, NY 14620 or the First United Methodist Church of Corning.
