MORRISON--Jane Hayes, 88, of Vero Beach, FL, formerly of Locust Valley, NY and Wayzata, MN, died on June 4, 2009 of ovarian cancer, after, in her words, "a wonderful and most fortunate life". She leaves her beloved husband of 21 years, John Washburn Morrison, as well as three mutually devoted daughters, Carole Williams (Richard), Marilyn Hayes and Sharon Morgan, her grandchildren: Hayes Batten, Jen Hatfield (David) and Cyia Batten, and four great-grandchildren: Quinn Batten, Jane, Mac and Kate Hatfield. She was also devoted to John's children, Helen Morrison and Jack Morrison (Chris) and his grandchildren, Kelly (John Willoughby) and Jeb (Kitsy). She also leaves her brother, James McMillen, Jr. and his children, Bryan (Caroline) and Shelley. Her first husband, William C. Hayes, died in 1985. She was the daughter of Alberta Weber McMillen and James H. McMillen, growing up in Great Neck, Long Island. She graduated from Buckley Country Day School, Westover School, and Katherine Gibbs. She became a respected business leader in Locust Valley, Long Island, owning Jane Hayes Real Estate. She lived her life with grace and will be greatly missed by her loving family and vast collection of friends and admirers.
