On October 26, 2014, Jane Lynne Norris age 50 of Medford, Oregon was called by God to be an Angel in Heaven.Jane was a beloved wife, mother and friend to many. She had a light that shone from within…the stars pale in comparison to her lovely smile and bright spirit. Jane cared for people and treated everyone with patience, compassion & kindness. She was a bright, funny woman who loved her family and participated in various charities benefiting children in her community. Jane was born on October 10, 1964 in Berea, Ohio. She studied at Savannah Christian Preparatory School and Georgia Southern University. Following a successful career in private club management and catering, Jane became a dedicated mother and homemaker. In 2007, Jane along with her husband Co-founded and Chaired the Annual Southern Oregon Autism Awareness Gala. She is preceded in death by her Mother, Eleanor Eileen Houston and brothers Mark Houston and Kenneth P. Houston, Jr. She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Jim Norris and daughters Elena Jane and Sadie Lynne Norris, Medford, OR; sisters, Dianne Schriner (Dennis) Chattanooga , TN, Shirley Wooten (Randy) Chattanooga, TN, Delores (Dee) Devine (Thomas) Aripeka, FL, Rosalie Sue Smith (Gary) North Ridgeville, OH, and sister-in-law Wendy Coyne (Jim) Strongsville, OH; nieces and nephews, Deanna Auberry, Denise Spencer, Jeffery Wooten, Julie Farmer, Jennifer Hendricks, Thomas Devine, Kelly Devine, Amy Jane Robertson, Kenneth P. Houston, III, Mark Smith, Rodney Smith, Tisha Ray and many great nieces nephews and cousins. Additional family members include: husband's parents, Rubielen and Howard Norris, Bishop, GA; his sister, Elizabeth (Liz) Singley, Americus, GA, and nephews Kyle (Heather) Singley, Americus, GA and Ryan Singley, Macon, GA.A gathering of friends and family for remembrance of Jane's life will be hosted on Sunday, November 16th, 2:00 - 4:00 PM at the Day Chapel, State Botanical Garden of Georgia, 2450 S. Milledge Ave., Athens, GA. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Jane Norris Community Children's Fund benefiting families with a child experiencing a disability.
